Originally from Ottawa, Adrian began his physical training through karate, a discipline that led him to compete internationally and participate in an intensive workshop with Shaolin monks from China. He discovered dance at the age of 16.

He is a graduate of the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, under the direction of Patricia Fraser, and of the Arts Umbrella Graduate Program in Vancouver, led by Artemis Gordon. During that time Adrian performed works by renowned choreographers such as Amos Ben-Tal, Mats Ek, Emanuel Gat, Johan Inger, Fernando Hernando Magadan, Emily Molnar, Crystal Pite, and Ihsan Rustem.
